Vintage Style Flash Cards

When Pam and I went to the Bella Rustica Barn Sale last month, we saw a vendor with very large flash cards.  I fully intended to get some, but apparently got distracted and forgot.  I was curious when I found a download for sale on Etsy, for large flash cards.  I figured I would give it a try, at $3.99.

I printed the set of 12 cards (3 per page) on off white card stock.  I just happened to have a heavier weight card stock on hand, and  I think it was the best for how I wanted to use these.  Although I did have to give it a nudge to get it to feed through my printer.  I just printed, and cut each one out.

And since the cards were for words like "glitter" and "crown", I broke out the German glass glitter and used it on a "Frozen" crown from Dollar General.

I purchased the card printable from the shop at THIS LINK .   There are other options for the word groups and sizes.  I think these are pretty cool and plan to go back and purchase some more, when I figure out a use for them.

Kitchen Eating Area - A Few Changes

I've changed up the seating around my kitchen table.  I removed the 2 chairs and put the bench against the wall.  I replaced that seating with the French bistro chairs.

The question I always get asked when I show this area, is where did I get the chalkboard canvas art.  I bought it at either TJ Maxx or Marshalls, but it's been a couple of years.

We've had our house on the market since early spring, so I've pretty much kept the decor at a status quo until the last couple of weeks.  We just took the house off the market because we are having our daughter's wedding here in May.  So naturally I've felt the need to start changing things up.

My November Mantle and Sister Shopping

I changed up this mantle November 1st because I had a Halloweenish fall display up.  And, I was anxious to display Mr. Rhino.  Since my porch room walls are almost all brick, I can't just hammer in a nail when I want to hang something.  So I just flipped around one of my fall signs and hung Mr. Rhino on a nail.

I got Mr. Rhino from one of my favorite places to shop.  Pam :)   We often enjoy "sister shopping", trading back and forth things we no longer have a need for as our home decor changes.  She originally got him from Anthropologie.  Lucky me! I also got another great piece from her this weekend, which I will share a bit later.
