Mr. and Mrs. Bones, French Totes, and Etsy

Mr. and Mrs. Bones were my favorite clearance purchase last year.  I watched these for weeks after Halloween waiting for them to hit my target rock bottom price online at Grandin Road.

Mrs. Bones is modeling a tote bag and wine/bottle bag I made. :)

I made a bunch of these tote bags last year at Christmas, but not with skulls  :)  I used pretty French designs.  I filled the bags with French jams, English biscuits, gourmet vinegars and other goodies and gave to many of our family members and friends.

I really miss the creative outlet I had when Pam and I were selling at the Nashville Flea Market. I decided to make a few things for the Etsy shop.  Most items are $5 or $6.  If you want to take a peek, you can find it HERE .  I think my favorite item is the black graphic burlap bottle bags.

Vintage Halloween

Last year I bought several Halloween decorations on clearance, after the 31st.  I promptly put them in my attic and forgot about everything.  Does anyone else do this?  I was quite surprised when I started pulling things out this month.  I have a bit more than I remembered, including a mummy I currently have draped over a chair, and a flying ghost still in the box. :)

My daughter and I both have birthdays just before Halloween, so we always work a party around our decorating.

I already had the mummy head (which is a glass head Pam got from Goodwill, wrapped in bandages), the glittery skull and blocks.

These cute pumpkin fellas came from TJ Maxx.

I think the masked pumpkin came from Hobby Lobby, along with the vintage kitty.  I actually saw this same kitty in the store this week.

French Style Dishes - Target Bargain

We just wanted to give everyone a shout out in case you want to check your local Target for these French inspired dishes on clearance.  Unfortunately I did not see these available online.   Pam and I had planned to go to  yard sales yesterday, but unfortunately the rain didn't move out as early as we had hoped.  Instead we decided to meet for breakfast and pick up a few things at Target.  Pam first noticed a bowl, then as we kept looking we found the plates and eventually noticed these were also sold as a boxed set.  I got a service for 4, which included dinner plate, salad plate, bowl and coffee mug.  The normal retail was $60 but these were marked down to $30.  I picked up some individual pieces to complete a service for 6, and we both picked up some individual plates for hanging on the wall.  The individual pieces were under $2 each.  The stripes on these are a dark brown, and a greyish taupe (which is perfect for my wall color).  The graphics are in black.  The dish is a cream color.

I love the mugs.  I put the plates on the dining table, but we are using the mugs for our daily coffee. )

 Thanks for visiting!

Fall Dining Room

I wanted to share my bargain find from TJ Maxx .  I found this metal house a few weeks ago in the clearance section for $15.   Each little house was supposed to have a votive size hurricane glass.  2 of them were missing.  It kind of reminded me of a spooky Halloween house when I saw it.  I knew  could do something with it for various seasons and holidays.  I just used burlap ribbon and some pumpkins and leaves I had on hand, along with some wreath picks I found at Dollar General for $2 each.  The picks are in each of the houses.

The napkins are grey linen my daughter brought me from France this summer.

Happy Fall decorating everyone!
