Bench, Bag and Booth

I thought I would share a picture of the latest bench slipcover I made.  These are so easy.  I just lay my fabric over the bench to measure and make cuts.  The hardest part is pinning the piping on and stitching around it.  I even used the iron-on hem tape to hem this one.  I bought a bunch of this fabric at a yard sale for $5.

I did an ink transfer of  a Paris flea market design on this market bag.  Oh, and where did I take this bag you might ask?  I took it to a booth I am now sharing with Rebecca from Walnut and Vine, located at The Old Feed Store in Woodbury, TN.   I took a dresser painted in Annie Sloan Country Grey, along with some Christmas ornaments and a few other small things this weekend.  I hope to get some pillow slipcovers and French stockings to the booth in a couple of weeks.

Rebecca and I met through our blogs.  She so kindly came out to visit Pam and I at the Nashville Flea Market on several occasions.  It turns out we live near each other, and our daughters even went to the same high school.  I'm so excited to get to work with her!  We will be getting the booth ready for Christmas and share some pictures a little bit later.

I'm partying with Linda at Coastal Charm .

Fall Dining Room

Here are some pictures of my dining room I snapped just before my daughter's birthday dinner this weekend.

This room is still a work in progress.  I want to paint the four side chairs, possibly black.  And, I have a big color change planned for the walls too.

I moved the black buffet in from my kitchen last weekend.

I ordered the leaf placemats from  Kohls.  The napkins, which are a great match, came from TJ Maxx and Marshalls.  I found one pack of 4 at Marshalls, then luckily found a second pack at TJ thiss weekend.

This is the corner just outside the dining room.  Each year I wrap the broom handle in orange ribbon and add the hat.

And finally, a special birthday wish for my special girl.  She will be 20 tomorrow, the 22nd, but came home from college to celebrate with us this weekend.

Fall Breakfast Bar

This morning I had three lovely college ladies in the house for breakfast.  I wanted to put together a little fall inspired treat for them.  We had pumpkin bagels, pumpkin cream cheese and chocolate muffins.  We also had pumpkin spice coffee and pumpkin spice creamer.  Fear not though, for those not loving all things pumpkin, there was also regular coffee, caramel apple coffee, various other flavored creamers and hot cocoa.

I've found that TJ Maxx is a great place to find seasonal baking supplies, like these mini baking papers, very inexpensively.

I love using sugar cubes in my coffee.  It's easier to get just the right amount of sweetness each time.

I painted this little pumpkin with some of my leftover silver foil spraypaint.

This old metal scoop I found at the flea market last year for $5.  I like to use it as my napkin holder.

This is set up in my butler's pantry area, in between the kitchen and dining room.  It's great having everything in it's own place and out of the way.

Thanks for stopping by!  Wishing everyone a great fall weekend!

Bookpage Birthday Banner

My daughter is coming home from college next weekend to celebrate her 20th birthday.  She is bringing a couple of friends with her, and we will also be doing a separate family celebration.  I've been rearranging some things and moved this old wood box top to the dining room.  After putting some other pieces in place, I decided it needed a banner.   So, a birthday banner it was.  I can't take credit for the inspiration though.  That came from the adorable Kristen  at ellaclaireinspired.   I used a stapler to put my 2 halves together, then double sided tape to connect each section.  I cut circles out of cardstock, and free handed the letters with a black marker.  I strung my ribbon across my board, then hot glued each pinwheel on, to make sure the spacing fit the box top.

Thanks for stopping by our little blog!  Robin

French Grain Sack Towel

I just wanted to share my find of the day, in case someone is headed to Marshall's or TJ Maxx this weekend and would like some too.  I found this set of towels at my local Marshall's today.   I'm not sure how popular the Marshall's stores are elsewhere, but it is affiliated with TJ Maxx/Homegoods.

These were sold as a set.  One is the PARIS design and one is the typical stripes.  The PARIS towel also has small stripes on the sides. The best part is the set was only $3.99!  The sad part, there was only 1 set at my store.  Hopefully there are more of these floating around at the other stores in case someone wants some too :)

Have a great weekend!
