Hello And A Peek

I just wanted to pop in and say "Hello" and I hope everyone had a great holiday!

Since stress seems to be a constant in my life, we planned some remodeling and redecorating just in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas!  As a matter of fact, the pictures below were taken 2 days before Thanksgiving.  Two days before we had a dozen people here for Thanksgiving dinner.  I had a painting crew come in at 7 a.m. the day before Thanksgiving, and didn't leave until 3 p.m.  You know what that means.  Everything had to be taken off the walls and counter tops, and then put back again.  I'm getting several rooms together and putting on the finishing touches.  However, it looks like the master bath will be gutted  right around Christmas!

The husband kindly cleaned all the high spots for me.

Pam painted her kitchen cabinets with Annie Sloan Country Grey and replaced the hardware.  They look great, and as soon as she cleans her kitchen she promised to send a picture!

Leipers Fork - The Copper Fox

This was our favorite shop to visit in Leipers Fork.  Of course the first things I noticed were these light fixtures. The shop owner was most friendly and was happy to let me take pictures around his gallery. You can find the business on Facebook HERE

Made from old galvanized buckets - isn't this great?

The husband was drooling over this bench.

This fireplace was amazing.  Wouldn't you love to just sit here and sip on something tasty?

There were lights strung throughout almost every tree in town!

Clearly some marshmallow toasting has been going on here.  These beautiful fire pits were for sale.  It was probably a good thing we were in my car and didn't have room to bring anything big home.

The Copper Fox was located in this beautiful old house, adorned in lots of copper.

The Charm of Leipers Fork

On Halloween we took a little trip over to Leipers Fork in Williamson County, TN.  I live in the county to the East, which is Rutherford County.   I guess we all get caught up in the day-to-day business of our lives, and forget to stop and look around.  I guess that is what is meant by "stop and smell the roses".   I've been more aware of this as I've watched the new  ABC show "Nashville".  There are so many interesting places  local to me that are shown each week, and most of them I haven't seen in years, or barely glance if passing by.  I decided I need to experience more of the places around me.

Leipers Fork is definitely a "rose" worth stopping to smell.  I've always just thought of it as a part of Williamson County, until Country Living Magazine did a nice spread on it several months ago.  This is Puckett's Grocery, where we had a nice "country" style meat and three lunch.

This is Puckett's from the side.  For some reason, I didn't get any pictures of the front.

Our lunch looked a lot like this.

This is Serenite Maison

I first heard about this store on American Pickers.  The owner helped the pickers furnish and decorate a room for William Shatner.

This is a real estate office.  Love the patina on the roof!

Lots of picket fences.

This place looked interesting, but unfortunately it wasn't open the day we were there.

Pretty blue bottles strung between the trees.

I have lots more pictures, including a great shop we spent quite a bit of time in.  I'll share these in my next post.

Thanks for stopping by!
