The Elephant In The Room

.

Looks like it's time to get back to the business of life-as-usual.  Our Christmas was great.  In addition to it being Christmas, December 25th is also Pam's birthday.  Everyone gathers at my house each year, and our dad comes to visit us from Alabama.  Since my children are now 18 and 19 years old, we decided to do things a little differently this year.  In the past we've always gone to church on Christmas Eve, then returned home to have dinner and open 1 gift per person.  This year we opened all the gifts after church on Christmas Eve.  Everyone seemed to enjoy this much better as it gave everyone time to check out their gifts and freed up time on Christmas morning before the rest of the family arrived.

I love how the mix of pillows represent all the colors in the painting above the bed.

A few weeks ago just before Pam hosted a party, she worked on a few projects around her house.  One project was painting her guest room just before the party.  As in we were instructed not to lean against or touch the walls, just before the party.  Okay, so it isn't a real elephant in the room, but the paint color is elephant grey.

Even though it was early December, the weather was in the 60's and allowed for the opening of a window, to help ventilate the paint and help it dry faster.  I don't know what it is about curtains blowing in the breeze, but it seems so beautiful and soothing.
