A Work In Process

I just wanted to post a quick picture of some pillows I've been working on.  Life has been extra busy lately with preparations for college, high school graduation, prom and Debutante Ball for my daughter.

Just before Christmas I was doing some volunteer work  through my church.  Okay.   I was actually wrapping presents.  This is more fun than work for me.  My church sets up a free gift wrap booth in our local mall every December.  While wrapping presents I met a fellow church member and, through casual chit chat discovered she does beautiful embroidery work.    We started tossing some ideas around and recently made a trial run with some designs.  These are just a few.  You can tell I'm not completely through with the ticking pillows, as they need some more stuffing.  I have two more designs to stitch up, but ideas for several more.  It is so much fun to see these come together.

We 're beginning to work on building up some stock for the flea market.  I'm even thinking about parting with this bench.  Pam and I spent some time today checking out some boutique type stores on our local town square.   Old buildings are so charming.  We even spent a little time daydreaming about having a store of our own one day.   The best part about dreaming - it doesn't cost a thing!

Thanks for stopping by our little blog!

  1. The pillows are lovely. I like ticking, but it has become a little pricey in my area. I patiently wait for the sales. Have a great weekend and I'd love it if you'd stop by and visit.
